It's not the label on the box

Hello! :) I'm sorry I haven't posted in such a while. Anyway, today I'm posting on something my dad told me when I asked him whether atheists go to Heaven or not.

Daddy told me that "It's not the label on the box" and then explained what he meant. I think it's very interesting so I decided to post it. :)
When Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Well, lots of people think that means that non-Christians won't go to Heaven when they die. But my daddy explained that it isn't the label on the box. What, you ask, does that mean? Well, I'll explain.

If somebody was collecting forks, and somebody sent them box which said "spoon" on it but was in actual fact a fork, it wouldn't matter about the label - it's what's inside the box which matters. So if somebody is another religion, but has lived a good life and been kind, honest, loving, and so on, then their label "non-Christian" would be of no consequence - it's what inside which matters.

When Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." he didn't mean you had to be a Christian, He meant you had to live the life of a good person, the sort of life which He taught people to live.

So, it's not the label on the box. ;)

PS. I'm going to be tweaking this blog's design a bit. ;)

St. George's Day

Hello, and sorry I haven't posted in ages... >.<

You probably didn't know that today (23rd April) is St. George's Day. In fact, I only just found out myself. St. George was the patron saint of England, and a lot of other places as well.

He was born in what is now Turkey, sometime around the year 280, which is a LONG time ago. XD St. George is known for killing a dragon.

According to legend, the only well in the town of Silene was guarded by a dragon, and in order to get water, the inhabitants of the town had to make a human sacrifice to the dragon each day. One day, when St. George was visiting, a princess was chosen to be sacrificed to the dragon, and St. George killed the dragon, saved the princess, and gave the people of Silene access to the water. In gratitude, they converted to Christianity.

It is thought that the dragon symbolises a sort of pagan belief that included human sacrifice.

Hell and the Devil

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in such a while >.< Most people picture the Devil as something like this, right?

But what is he really?

I think that the Devil is really just those sort of aspects of human nature, like greed, selfishness, etc. And the Devil slips in, and tempts your greed and selfishness. That's what I think the Devil is really. Not a freaky read creature with horns and a spiky tail.

There was a book I remember reading when I was small. I can't remember what it was called, but it was about a certain Mr. Gimme and Mr. Give. I think the author's purpose of that story was to teach a small child about what the Devil really was, but not under the word Devil

Mr. Gimme was sort of like the Devil. He crept in and made people be bad. Made them be greedy and selfish. But when they use their willpower to fight the temptation Mr. Gimme was giving them to be bad, Mr. Give would help them to say sorry, and poof! Mr. Gimme disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

When Mr. Give came in the front door, Mr. Gimme crept out the back door.

That is pretty much what the Devil is.

And what about Hell?

Some people say that if you've been bad in your life, you go to Hell instead of Heaven. Some even say that if you've sinned, you'll go to Hell.

But everyone has sinned. Haven't you lied, once or twice when you were small? I know I have. Everyone has sinned.  You may not have lied. You may have said Oh my G**, or taken something that belonged to someone else - such as your sibling's chocolate (I've done that). Just that is sinning. But you say sorry, and you are forgiven. And you can go to Heaven.

I actually think that there's nothing that anyone has done on Earth that deserves them eternity in Hell. Yes, I do know there have been some very bad people on Earth. But I still don't think what they've done would deserve them eternity in Hell.

Perhaps, when these very bad people die, they serve a long time in Purgatory or are reincarnated into someone else on Earth to try again.

Just my beliefs. ;)

Good Friday

Hello! :3
I am so sorry I didn't post on Maundy Thursday. I forgot >.< But Kinyonga did, and her post was really good if you want to look at it. ^.^
Well, it's Good Friday today! :3
After Jesus had been arrested, conflicting "proof" against Jesus was brought forth by many witnesses, to which Jesus didn't respond. Eventually the High Priest urged Jesus to answer under a solemn oath, saying "I adjure you, by the Living God, are you the Anointed One, the Son of God?"
To which Jesus answered "You have said it, and in time you will see the Son of God seated on the right side of the Almighty, coming on the clouds of Heaven."
The High Priest condemned Jesus for blasphemy, and in the morning of Good Friday he was crucified with two criminals.

Poor Jesus. They were so nasty to him :'( He died on the cross to save humanity and give us eternal life in Heaven.

Palm Sunday (yesterday)

Hello! :3

So, yesterday was Palm Sunday, and that's what I'm here to post on ^.^

Palm Sunday is a week before Easter Sunday. It commemorates the day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey.
Everyone had been expecting a powerful king on a war-horse, but Jesus rode humbly into Jerusalem on a donkey colt, bringing tidings of joy and peace.
As he entered Jerusalem his many followers waved palm leaves (symbolising triumph, peace, eternal life and victory) and cried "Hosanna" which means "Praise the Lord".

Clothing was put on the road for His donkey to walk on, a sign of great respect and honour.

In Church, crosses made out of palm leaves are now distributed on Palm Sunday.

Thank you for reading! :3

True Friendship

Hello friends! :) A bloggy-friend, Cherry, gave me the idea to post on true friendship.

True Friendship is a wide topic. There are lots of different types of True Friendship. For now, however, I am going to post on this sort:

And I'm going to end up telling you an anecdote.

I met Honey Bea (her bloggy-name - not her real one) at primary school in October... Err, the October when I was four years old. I had already been at this school for about a month. Before I had started school I had known...we'll call her A. And A went to this same school. The sad thing was, it seemed that she knew this other girl who we'll refer to as J, who didn't like me. So I was excluded from the threesome. I still stayed friendly with A, we were still good friends actually. But then I met Honey Bea. I remember quite clearly the autumn day (I know it was an autumn one, there were leaves everywhere :3) when I was walking down the lane from the school with my mother, and I was talking about all the people there were in my class.
And just as I was talking about Honey Bea, Honey Bea and her mother walked down the lane (a sign! :3). Anyway, I told my mother that this was the Honey Bea (of course I didn't say Honey Bea - I said her real name) we'd been talking about, and we went over to say hello.
And after that, we became quite good friends. We went to each others' houses. Soon, we were best friends. We did everything together. We played together at break (recess). OK, and this all lasted until I was seven years old. My family moved...all the way to France.
But our friendship didn't shatter. We sent each other letters. We phoned each other. We emailed (not so much though).

Thank you for reading, and God bless. :)

Praying

Hello! SilverDawn here to post on praying. :)

When you or someone you know is having a difficult time in life, then you can pray to God for help. It makes all the difference. God always listens and never forgets your prayers.

It doesn't matter if you don't have a habit of praying in your family. God loves everyone the same, and He will listen to everyone.

He may not answer your prayers immediately, but He will definitely answer them when the time is right.

Praying with faith makes all the difference.

Thank you for reading! :)
